one of the most famous sights in acaoulco are the cliff divers, las clavadistas de la quebrada. the cliffs rise up to a maximum height of 45 meters. before the dive, the clavadista has to climb up the cliffs face first. the dive into the small bay has to be perfactly timed with the infalling waves, so the diver wouldn't dive into the bay's ground. diving into the water, the clavadista reaches a debth of upto 4,5 meters under water!! very impressive.
the beaches in acapulco are overpopulated and surroundet by huge hotel complexes. the nicer and above all quieter beaches are in 'pie de la cuesta', about 10 km north acapulco.
the beach itself streches over more then a kilometer. quieter then in acapulco, it has one disadvantage: it's impossible (nearly impossible) to go into the sea, as the waves have very dangerous heights and caracteristics. very impressive waves actually!!
to relaxe after a tiring night in acapulco or for a short relaxing holiday in general, this is the perfect place...
